2004 Zinfandel Russian River Valley
Old Vine, 104 Years Old
Limited Edition

Tasting Notes
A showy and rich Zinfandel, this wine showcases the dense palate that
is so cherished from this prized 102-year-old vineyard. A heady
perfume of spiciness, earthiness and plum compote signals the sumptuous
tasting that is to follow. Jewel-like flavors of ripe black fruits and
deep plum unfold in the mouth, polished with nuances of dried figs and
dark chocolate. Beautifully integrated layers swell throughout the
lengthy and well balanced finish.
This remarkable vineyard was planted in 1902 by Louis Baldacci, a
prominent winegrower and farmer for generations. The vines are dry
farmed and head pruned in the old Italian style, and today the vines
yield tiny amounts of fruit that pack powerful flavors.
Cellaring: 50% new French oak barrels, 50% seasoned.
