2006 D’Argenzio
Pinot Noir, Old Vine Cherry Block
Tasting Notes
This Pinot is grown in a small block of 60-year-old vines at Bacigalupi Vineyard, with a yield of less than one ton per acre. Previously a cherry orchard, this area of the vineyard, now planted with the Wente clone of Pinot noir creates an interesting character of earthy mushrooms, dark fruit, blackberry and raspberry. 40% new French oak creates a Burgundian balance of oak and fruit. Hints of black pepper and anise finish this beautiful wine.
